Payment and Cancellation Policies
Payment
In Cambodia, unlike in many other countries, most transactions are carried out in US dollars. The local currency, the riel, is generally used only for small daily expenses, such as market purchases or tips.
How It Works with Us
All payments are accepted in US dollars ($USD) and Euros (if paying the full amount or the remaining balance upon arrival).
Our payment process is simple, flexible, and adapted to your preferences.
Payment Process
Once your itinerary is confirmed and your quotation approved, our accounting team will send you an email with all the payment details and options.
➡️ In practice, we strongly recommend using Wise as it is fast, easy, and offers very low transfer fees.
To secure your booking, a 35% deposit is required.
This deposit can be paid through one of the following methods:
-
International bank transfer (IBAN) – available on request.
-
Credit card transfer via Wise (see details below).
-
Western Union – available on request (see details below).
All necessary details will be provided by our accounting department.
Payment of the Balance
The balance is to be paid upon arrival, directly to our team in cash, in US dollars, with no additional fees. Payment in Euros is also possible.
If you wish to pay in Euros on arrival, the amount will be recalculated on the same day based on the official exchange rate, with a small surcharge to cover conversion fees.
Cancellation Policy
At CambodiaCarRentals.com, we value flexibility and trust. That’s why we offer a 100% stress-free and flexible cancellation policy:
-
Free cancellation at any time, even at the very last minute.
-
No cancellation fees will ever be charged.
-
If you paid a deposit, it will be fully refunded, without conditions.
-
If you prepaid the total amount, you will be fully refunded (excluding any bank transfer fees).

Steps to Send a Bank Transfer via Wise
1. Set up your transfer on Wise
Log in to your Wise account or create one if you don’t have it yet.
Go to the Send tab, enter the amount, and fill in your beneficiary’s bank details (or your own if you’re sending to your own account).
2. Choose bank transfer as your payment method
At the payment stage, select Bank Transfer as the payment option.
3. Note Wise’s bank details
Wise will provide you with an IBAN/account number and a unique reference to include in your transfer.
Be sure to copy these details carefully.
4. Make the transfer from your bank
From your banking interface (online, mobile app, phone, or branch), add Wise as a beneficiary using the details provided.
⚠️ Make sure the name on your bank account matches the name on your Wise account, otherwise your transfer may be delayed or rejected.
Include the exact reference code provided by Wise and the correct amount.
5. Confirm with Wise
After completing the bank transfer, go back to Wise and confirm that you have sent the money (in some cases, simply clicking “I’ve made the transfer” is enough).
6. Wait for confirmation
Wise will notify you by email once your funds are received. They will then handle the conversion and send the money to the beneficiary.
Amounts and Fees
-
Some banks may charge fees (approx. $15–30 USD for a domestic transfer in the US).
-
Wise always shows you the fees and estimated delivery time before you confirm the transfer.

Bank Transfer via Western Union (from Europe)
1. Create and verify your Western Union account
Log in or create an account on the European website (e.g. westernunion.com, .fr, .de).
Verify your identity with a government-issued ID.
2. Enter the recipient’s bank details
You will need to provide:
-
Full name of the beneficiary
-
IBAN
-
BIC/SWIFT (if requested)
-
Bank address
3. Initiate the transfer from your bank
Access your online banking (web, mobile app, or local branch).
-
Select “SEPA transfer” (or International transfer if outside SEPA).
-
Copy the details provided by Western Union (IBAN, BIC, reference if required).
-
Enter the amount in euros and add a payment reference (e.g. “WU transfer”).
ℹ️ SEPA transfers: very low or free fees, usually completed within 1 business day (or instantly with some banks).
ℹ️ International SWIFT transfers: higher fees, processing time of 2–4 business days.
4. Confirm the transfer on Western Union
Once your bank has completed the transfer, return to Western Union.
-
Indicate that you have transferred the money using the confirmation button or according to WU instructions.
-
You will then receive an MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number), which you must provide to the recipient so the transaction can be tracked.
